Emma: Mommy! Oliver was mean to me!

艾玛：妈妈！奥利佛对我不友好！

Mother: Okay, tell me what happened.

妈妈：好，告诉我怎么回事。

How was he being mean to you?

他怎么对你不友好了？

Oliver: No, I wasn't!

奥利佛：我没有！

Emma hit me!

艾玛打我！

Mother: Oliver, let me talk to Emma first, and then I will talk to you.

妈妈：奥利佛，我先跟艾玛谈谈，然后我再跟你谈谈。

Emma: He won't let me play with the trains.

艾玛：他不让我玩火车。

Mother: Okay, Oliver, why won't you let Emma play with the trains?

妈妈：好，奥利佛，你为什么不让艾玛玩火车呢？

Oliver: They are my trains - I don't want her to play with them.

奥利佛：那是我的火车，我不想让她玩。

Mother: That is not kind.

妈妈：那样不好。

We share our toys.

Do you like playing with Emma's dollhouse?

Oliver: Yes.

Mother: How would you feel if Emma wouldn't let you play with her dollhouse?

Mother: Okay, so do you think we could share the train and Emma will share her toys with you?

Or how about you play together with the train

and make a village around it with the blocks?

Oliver: Okay, but she can't play with the red train - that's my favorite.

Mother: That sounds fair.

but we never hit our siblings.

Emma: Sorry, Oliver.

Mother: Oliver, what should you say to Emma for being mean to her?

妈妈：奥利弗，你对艾玛不友好，你该说什么？

Oliver: Sorry, Emma.

奥利佛：对不起，艾玛。

Mother: Okay, now please go play together

妈妈：好，现在一起去玩吧，

and try to be nice to each other

尽量对对方好一些，

or we will have to put the toys away.

否则我们就得把玩具收起来了。

Children: Okay, Mommy.

孩子们：好的，妈妈。

Mother: If you can't agree on something,

妈妈：如果你们对某些事意见不一致，

try to compromise.

要尝试着做出让步。

Do you know what that means?

你们知道这是什么意思吗？

Children: No.

孩子们：不知道。

Mother: It means that you both try to find a way to make you both happy.

妈妈：意思就是，你们倆都尝试去找一种让你们都开心的方法。

For example, if Oliver wanted to use the square blocks for all the houses,

比如，如果奥利弗想要用方块去搭所有房子，

but Emma wanted to use the rectangular blocks for the houses,

但艾玛想要用矩形块去搭房子，

you could decide to make one street of houses with square blocks

你们可以决定用方块搭一条街的房子，

and another street with rectangular blocks.

再用矩形块搭另一条街的房子。

That way you both get what you want,

这样你们就都得到了你们想要的，

and the village still looks lovely.

而且村庄看起来仍旧会很漂亮。

Oliver: I understand.

奥利佛：我明白了。

Emma: Okay, if we can't agree,

艾玛：好的，如果我们不能统一意见，

we will work together until we do agree.

我们会共同努力直到我们达成共识。
